Hi there. Welcome to the September OSAT Blog Hop! Maybe you came here by way of the talented Melissa Davies’ blog or you started out right here. Either way, welcome, I am glad to have you. This month’s hop theme is Throwback Thursday. The idea was to find an old card or project that we made and use is as inspiration for a project today. I searched back in my pictures and found a card I had made just over five years ago, just one month before becoming a demonstrator:Since this photo was snapped way before I was sharing much on social media of my cards so, I get a pass for how crappy it is, right? Phew, good. I remember getting this flower stamp set, it was a promotion and you got it FREE when you made a purchase one month. Any flower is perfect for this stamping technique call triple stamping. This technique video was published the month before I made the card above…I wonder if I watched it back then?
I decided to pull out the stamp set that I have been obsessed with lately, Painted Harvest. Do you have it yet? Oh, the pretty projects that come from this set:This stamp set is full of watercolory stamp goodness. I have been obsessed with the sunflower stamp and decided it was a fabulous option for this Throwback Thursday project. A great color combo was where I needed to start:
This color combo turned into this:I am seriously dying for these sunflowers. I mean SERIOUSLY! I started out using Soft Suede to stamp the flower centers. Next I used Crushed Curry for the larger portion of the flower and Cajun Craze for the smaller, more detailed flower stamp. The stamped layers are Very Vanilla and the card base and mats are Dapper Denim. There is so much dimension in these stamped sunflowers yet they are still dainty, soft. I love the way that the images just spill over one layer to another. That is the magic of the triple stamping technique.I paired the card with one of my favorite new items out of our Holiday Catalog, the Mini Pizza Boxes. You get 8 of them for just $6! They are perfect for small treats or a collection of 3×3 mini cards and envelopes!
