Is it possible that there are only THREE days left in September? Where has this year gone? Poof! That’s what it feel like. Today we have a great Hop for you! It’s the September installment of A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who have taken the monthly subscription kit, Paper Pumpkin, and turned it into something other than it was designed for. If you want more details about Paper Pumpkin or subscribing, you can check it out here.
Did you make it here from my sweet friend Andrea Tracy-Tucker? Her creations are always FABULOUS and today she hasn’t disappointed. Whether you came here from Andrea or you just started here, welcome! We hope you enjoy the projects and make some of them yourself. So sit back, enjoy, and make sure you visit all of the blogs to check out what the other artists made for you!
This month’s Paper Pumpkin has me itching for turkey, dressing and mulled wine! It may have a thankful theme but when I saw it I was immediately transformed to Thanksgiving day! But before I share that, check out how stinkin’ adorable the kit is, as designed! Perfect little pillow boxes and mini cards…oh the sweetness! The kit comes with all of the supplies to make eight (8) of each! Wowzer !
I had a vision of what my alternate project would be, and I have to be honest. It’s not as much an alternate project as it is an alternate use with slight adjustments.
One of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving is sharing it with my family AND fun table settings. These pillow boxes are the perfect way to fancy up your plates, and hold all of your silver safe until it’s time to chow down. Instead of closing the pillow box, I left the top open. I closed the bottom only after I wrapped the twine around the front and through the inside of the box.
Confession: I struggle tying bows with baker’s twine that has metallic thread in it. I always seem to get my bows all twisty and it drives me crazy! On this project, instead of tying a bow, I made four loops around my fingers, creating a circle. I pinched them in the center, making a bow shape, and used the twine around the box to tie a knot in the center of the twine. It’s kinda like a FAKE bow but it doesn’t get all twisty…score!
This little name plate was so simple and how cute is i? This is simply the card, made as the kit is designed, with the Duet Banner punch providing the perfect little shape to write in your special family members names! That’s it!
Can you see a table full of these? I certainly can, and maybe they will end up on this year’s table…
I am so glad that you hopped by today and hate to see you go, but now it’s time for one thing, to see what Dena Rekow has in store for us! Click the button below to visit her blog.
