Hello and welcome to the June OSAT Blog Hop. If you started at my blog, or made it here by way of Melissa Davie’s blog, I am glad to have you. Our theme this month is All About Men. With Father’s Day right around the corner, men may be on your mind!
This is not going to be a happy blog post, but I hope when you read, you will feel just how much love I have for what my project is for and this post is about. Today is a particularly tough day. Many of the days over the past few months have been. You see, today is exactly 5 months since I watched my daddy take his very last breath here on this earth.
I don’t want anyone to be sad reading this…I want anyone reading this to know just how much my daddy meant to me. He was possibly my favorite person in my life. He was a simple man with a simple life and simple dreams. That is why the project for today’s hop are simple. They aren’t fancy, flashy or overly detailed, because neither was he.
As a carpenter, since his teenage years, I knew that I had to use some of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. The heart was stamped using the Wood Words set, which was also used for the die cut hearts and that adorable wood crate. The first thing my daddy had to build, to prove that he could be a carpenter, was a tool crate. I have that tool crate that he built sometime around 1955. There is not enough wood in the world to build a crate that would fit the love I have for my daddy.
I hope you enjoyed my tribute to the man I knew as Daddy. We all have special people in our lives. He was one very special person in my life.
